Alone in Japan

It is awesome to have great mechanics, but it means nothing when they are sitting at home. Or not? We will see tommorow, however this quotation shows that today´s 13th qualifying position before the race at Motegi Circuit is something like a "Fukushima" miracle.

Unfortunately it is just a real fact. So much more valuable is today´s performance by Jakub and a few braveones. Jakub Kornfeil knew Japanese GP will not be an easy weekend, as he knew that he travels to the land of rising sun damaged by nuclear explosion on his own. His accompaniment will be taken only by my crew chief and his father (super experienced) Cechini senior. You can see Jakub´s report below.

Jakub Kornfeil: I will be totally honest, depsite the fact I could be pleasured, but I am not happy in my mind. It would be better to say, what is not visible and is covered by result are just big big issues. The first day of riding was absolutely unendurable, when basicaly everything did not work out. Bike missed function. When I opened the throttle nothing happened and suspension, I would ask, what is it? All practice long I felt vibrations in left peg and temperature of the bike was mysteriously high. I could continue and add more and more problems. We improved the bike in the afternoon, but I definitely did not have a good night, depsite my 13th place. 13th spot we should concider as a very good result especialy if we care about screwing maybe nonscrewing on the bike. Next day´s morning our troubles continued. It was practice that I have never experienced before. The bike did not go to revs and when I tried to change the gear, the revs dropped down very quickly and it caused losing of power. It was like a big suffering for me and Jasper Iwema as well, he had basically the same problems with his bike. Finally it started to work so we were really delighted so we expected good conditions to qualify too. Mirko made the same setup for me and Jasper and it worked out. I did not want to enter pits many times, because those entries cost lot of time. We lost much time during this weekend so I was hoping I will be okay. In the beginning hte laptimes were not so fast, but when it was 16 remaining I set decent laptime and entered the pits for the first time. I got new tyres, we change setup of power little bit and it was just up to me to do something good. I took a good rythm, but It is not ideal to ride alone, so I was waiting for anyone faster. I was following Sandro Cortese and that was fine. I took his line and set my best on 2.00.1. I am happy with this laptime, but still was something to improve. In general I think I can be satisfied with my performance, but I know there is still somenting to improve as I said before. I am also about my team, because I have only one mechanic this weekend. My mechanici s 70 years old. But I thank him very much as to Mirko, because it is unbelievable where we are, because those two men také care of three riders. I belive that we will not make a shame depsite the fact that my mechanics are at home. What a dissappoinment they did not take a plane with us. That all for now!
