Bike on wet
Broken wood screw in the middle of today´s qualifying practice of the lowest class of motogp where we will know last world champion of this year spoiled Jakub Kornfeil´s effort for the best qualifying result this year.
From 20th place on the grid will start Jakub Kornfeil to last race of his first all year appearance in motogp 125 class. It will be a difficult battle for rookies in the end of the season where he will try to lift up and score some points.
Jakub Kornfeil: The results from yesterday were not so good. We changed the setup little bit and since the first lap in morning warm up I knew it is so much better. Bike had really good grip engine power was okay too, so I basicaly did not mind my 20th position, because the gap to top 15 was like nothing. I was quite confident in the quialifying because I started riding in fast and for me comfort rhythm and was around 10-12th place. I was even able to ride with some faster and more experienced riders and reach the time around 1:42,7 sek, in this time I would not think that is my last hot lap in this qualifying. Then I decided to make another hot lap behind swiss rider Randy Krummenacher. It could be successful because lap was going really cool until the third split, but in the exit to finish straight I noticed that water in flowing from my right side of the bike. In first moment I thought that my radiator is broken. In this speed I was not able to turn it right and enter the pits however in the end of finish straight which I went through with neutral. So I stopped the bike and mechanics ran to help me. The problem was that one of the wood screw on the cylinder was broken and caused some damage on piston. Mechanics were working very hard, but they were not successful to start the bike again. Depsite very short time I was out on the track I am happy, because I showed I can ride with the fastest riders. I am quite sorry I have not set faster time earlier because staying closer to first line on the grid would be a great advantage. I have nothing more to do than just keep pushing and during first and second lap pass as many riders as I can, because with the faster racers I am ready to fight and able to fight because I have still what to fight for.
