Jakub Kornfeil starts his third season in Grand Prix

Opening round of road racing motorcycle World champioship started on Thursday at Losail Circuit in Qatar, when two free practices of Moto3 class were on.

Czech rider Jakub Kornfeil got to both rounds in very good mood. Jakub was having some issues with the front in the first free, the reset was 14th place with laptime of 2:12.033. Second session meant a big improvement in time, when he was able to go faster for 1,9 sec. and stopped the time on 2:10.154 and finished on 16th place.

Jakub Kornfeil: ´´ I am not good enough in the first and the last sector of the track. I talked to Mikro (crewchief) after the first practice, because the gap was really huge. I was able to eliminate this deficiencies, which is very important for me, but there still a big space when to improve. I changed also my gearing a bit and it helped me a lot to push my laptime down. To catch somebody that was my goal in the second free and when anyome came, was pushing only half of the lap so I decided to try it on my own and set my personal best in the last lap. I found some breaking points and I try to move them lap by lap. As Maverick Viňales said me before a while, full gas is important. I definitely have reserves and I will have to push to cover it. Mood in the team is perfect and I well very good. We are quite happy with the time, but we are not happy with my position. 16th place is not what we want and tommorow we have only practice so I will have to do my best and improve my time that would lift me up in results.“
