Mood to fight

Jakub Kornfeil reached his best starting positon before the Malaysian GP, finished 11th with his big rival of this year along.

Injured hand has been successfully recovered, but feeling that It did not work out in Australia is not going to recover in the same way. It is going to run penultimate round of this year and Jakub would like to fight, he definitely means for a good result that would be a good bandage and motivation to very last race in Valéncia.

Jakub Kornfeil: During Friday´s practice we had several issues, but all of them dissappeared and everything was going well. I have had a very special fighting mood since Friday. Not against anyone, but against anything. Yesterday´s results appetited me a lot and I set a target to be inside the top ten in qualifying practice. We adjusted the strategy of two stops during QP with taking new tyres. It was running really well in the beginning, I set a decent time and went for the new tyres little bit earlier. We also removed all little problems of setting. When I went out of the pits I was not able to make a hot lap, because of many riders in my way. I decided to wait for a clean track and try to improve my laptime alone. I was not able to do so. I entered pits for the second time. Took new tyres (C compound) I still had a determination to fight on my mind to lift up. After coming back on track I noticed Johann Zarco and started to push, but really did not know that he suffered a crash and has troubles with his bike and he dissappeared very quickly. My another decent lap was spoiled by another Frenchman, Louis Rossi and I had two laps left and I was so keen and determined to bounce it, but everything was different. I was very wide in one corner, but I did not give up this lap and was pushing and I khew that Rossi is chasing me. But there was one more chance, unfortunately I was wrong. In exit of very last corner I saw a chequered flag instead of setting to another hot lap. I missed it by only 2 seconds and it is probably one of the reasons I am not in top ten. It is my best starting position in world championship so far and I really appreaciate it. I would like to say a big thanks to my crew chief for very good setting and I am looking forward for tomorrow.
