Sad Sunday

Jakub Kornfeil wanted to give a nice present to his mum for birthday. 8th place was very nice present. All the pleasure dissappeared after tragic death of Marco Simoncelli.

Jakub was shining as malaysian sun afther the race. As Jakub said yesterday, he had a very good mood, fighting mood, he reached this goal brilliantly. If there was not a mistake in very last corner It would be 7th place in the end. Pleasure from very good race, awesome battle and massive point score dissappeared after very sad news of death of Marco Simoncelli. Smiles went off and real men tears appeared on everyone´s face. There is notning more to say about that…..only memories remain.

Jakub Kornfeil: I would rather not be talking. Is there a topic to be talking about? Oh dear…., Today´s hot weather was incredible. Start was normal and the first corner I was entering from outsider line, because there was no space and that made frightened. Exit was blocked for me by home racer Khairuddin. This fact influenced my bad first lap. There was no other possibility than to be pushing very hard. I did not want to lose contant with Kent and Moncayo so I was focused on pushing. Two laps later I closed the gap and became a member of this group with Moncayo and Kent. That was a battle for 10th spot. I immediately joined the battle, that lasted until the end of the race. Thoughest battles were with homeboy Zulfahmi Khairuddin, he was at home and very determined. The last lap meant an overtaking manoeuvre from Khairuddin, It was okay because I wanted he wants to use sleap stream to pass me. We changed our positions several times. To make on overtake would be the best to use sleap stream out. I did so to very last corner. I went it little bit wide and he profited from my mistake and finished 7th. I was not an easy race, I had some issue with rear wheel and that made my race very difficult. We were considering with two options of tyre setup, we eventually selected F compound, that should secure better conditions in the end, but It was sliding anyway. Thanks to all for their good job about the bike, everything was finally working well and We could see very good battle after really long time. Good battle emphasized by many points, but not for long. That is Malaysia, everything around is very sad!
