Ufff…., have it over!

With a big relief on his mind and soul could Jakub Kornfeil take a breathe of relief after difficult weekend in the Czech republic. In his home GP he eventually took decent 7th place.

Maybe Jakub was talking, that he wants to reach even higher spots, but to stay cool and concentrated  depsite huge pressure from home environment is sometimes very difficult. This time it worked. Maybe that was the key to success, because after many meetings, autograph sessions, interviews with journalists finally came today´s race on it´s turn where Jakub  proved his qualities and skills.Rocket start catapulted him near to top 10 and his tactic-in final stages very lonely run-ended by very nice 7th place and 9 points to the table, where Jakub is appearing in 12th spot with a little gap from riders in front of him.

Jakub Kornfeil: Afther things were happening yesterday is warm up something like a healing balsam. Bike was working as it should work and I was able to reach better lap times with low conditioned tyres than in yesterday´s qualifying. It definitely helped to my confidence and I was able to feel absolutely ready and do not be scared about my starting position after bad qualifying practice, it´s bad performace caused broken rear disc on my brake. In the beginning I thought It´s broken engine so last six laps I had to finish the session because there was no time to enter the pits.

A while later mechanics found a problem. Screw was missing there that caused stocking to brake pads. I had a great start and I overtook two or four rows in very short time. In this time I suddenly got to know It could be going really well. Then in the very first corner I scored several scalps of my opponents. I was 14th, I guess. One lap later I passed another rider and there was really fast group in the front where the tepmo of the race was coming from. I was very close to them.

Unfortunately I was not able to overtook Grotzkyj quickly and because several little battles with him I missed the train. With hopes I can close the gap I was doing maximum, but my rythm of lonely rider was so strong as theirs. Lost contact with this group is a big shame, because fight for podium was happening there. I did not give up final stages of the race, I was trying to push, but 7th place is today´s maximum. I am very happy for that. Not only because of myself, but I am also happy for my team and everybody at least little involved. And for all the fans I heard then in my helmet even when my bike was rewed up!
